WFM Series Compact Pneumatic Actuator – Male Rod Thread

The WFM series is a compact double-acting cylinder for pushing, pulling, clamping and positioning where installation space is limited. Compressed air powers the rod in both directions, and the male threaded rod end provides the connection to your tooling or rod-end accessory.

Every WFM cylinder is made in-house at ATS Pneumatics in Christchurch, whether you choose a common stroke length or enter a custom measurement. Configure your cylinder online, view the price and select compatible mountings before ordering.

Features and specifications

Bore sizes: 25, 32, 40, 50 and 63 mm.
Online stroke range: custom strokes up to 300 mm, subject to the available range shown for your selected bore.
Mounting dimensions: ISO 21287 for 32–63 mm bores; the 25 mm version uses UNITOP-style dimensions.
Operation: double acting, with a single piston rod.
Rod connection: male thread, sized to suit the selected bore.
Working pressure: 1–10 bar.
Temperature range: 0 to +80°C; down to −20°C with dry air.
Air supply: filtered compressed air, lubricated or non-lubricated.
Position sensing: magnetic piston with slots for compatible sensors.
Construction: anodised aluminium body and end caps.
Piston rod: AISI 303 for the 25 mm bore; chrome-plated C40 steel for 32–63 mm bores.
Seal materials: polyurethane rod and piston seals, with NBR O-rings.

Rod diameter, rod thread, air-port size and mounting dimensions vary by bore. The overview displays the key specifications for your selected size; the technical catalogue includes both bore-group drawings and the dimensional tables.

WFM uses an external male rod thread. If you need an internally threaded rod end, choose the WF version.

Mountings and accessories

Compatible mounting options appear after selecting your bore. Mountings are priced separately, and more than one can be selected where required. Position sensors are additional items. Contact ATS for help selecting sensors or mounting arrangements for your application.

The 25 mm mounting geometry differs from the larger bore sizes. When replacing an existing cylinder, check the mounting centres, rod connection and port threads as well as the bore and stroke.

In-house manufacture and delivery

Standard production is usually 3–5 working days, with delivery time additional. An urgent or same-day production request is available through the configurator, subject to workshop capacity and ATS confirmation. We supply customers throughout New Zealand and can assist with replacement cylinders, custom strokes and application requirements.
